These days, Arianna Huffington is definitely in a global state of mind. Her media company, The Huffington Post, chose the 44th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum to launch The WorldPost. A partnership between Huff Post and the Berggruen Institute on Governance, the intent of this online news outlet is to provide “a global platform to bring together a mix of perspectives, from world leaders to young people whose voices might otherwise go unheard.”
A naturalized U.S. citizen, Arianna began her media career with a political blog about US politics. Today the Huff Post is a global media outlet, with editions in ten countries. This growth reflects the hunger for an expanded global conversation and Arianna’s personal desire to be part of the conversation about many global issues like climate change, global health and well being, political governance, etc. Her sense of global connectedness is evidenced in her own writing, reporting and leadership.
